Viva! Roxy Music (1976)

This is the first live Roxy Music album, released in July 1976.

This was recorded at three venues in the United Kingdom between 1973 and 1975. The recordings were from the band's shows at the Glasgow Apollo in November 1973, Newcastle City Hall in October 1974 and the Wembley Empire Pool in October 1975.

Never previously available outside of Japan, this SHM-CD title is being made in Japan and will be available for the first time globally. Includes the white booklet featuring the Japanese translations of the lyrics.

Manifesto (1979)

In 1979 Roxy Music released Manifesto, almost four years since the last album and with it brought one of the bands biggest hits the second single and disco tinged ‘Dance Away’ and was a Top 10 selling single of 1979. The album also peaked in the UK chart at No’7 and was positively received by critics.

Flesh + Blood (1980)

In May 1980 Flesh + Blood gave Roxy Music their second No’1 UK Album and peaked at No’35 in the US Billboard chart. The album was preceded by the single “Over You”, a No. 5 UK hit that also provided the band with a rare US chart entry at No’ 80. Two more hit singles followed: “Oh Yeah” (UK No’5) and “Same Old Scene” (UK No’12). Flesh + Blood also included two cover versions: The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High” and Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour”. The albums artwork was envisaged and designed by iconic British artist Peter Saville.

Avalon (1982)

Avalon the final studio offering from Roxy Music would draw upon a smoother, more adult orientated sound giving us the now iconic single ‘More Than This’. Avalon would be yet another UK no’1 album staying there for more than three weeks and in the album charts for over a year. Consistently praised by critics Avalon Rolling Stone magazine wrote “Bryan Ferry stars as a remarkably expressive keyboard player and singer whose familiar mannerisms are subsumed in a rich, benevolent self-assurance. And reed man Andy Mackay shines in a series of cameos (his oboe meditation on Ferry’s “Tara” is particularly lovely). Ten years after its debut, Roxy Music has mellowed: the occasional stark piano chords in “While My Heart Is Still Beating,” for example, recall the stately mood of “A Song for Europe,” but the sound is softer, dreamier and less determinedly dramatic now. Ferry’s songwriting, however, has seldom seemed stronger.”

Heart Still Beating is the live album by Roxy Music, released on 22 October 1990.

It is credited as a recording of a concert in Fréjus, France on 27 August 1982, as part of their tour to promote the band's final studio album, Avalon. The album cover photograph features model Amanda Cazalet.
